  1. Real interesting points made there Russ. On reflection I often settle into a more sports fight pace when working the bags and though do self defence sections where I’m mentally rehearsing typical scenarios I’m habitually only going at a similar speed as the sports fight mode and not truly exploding like you mention, something to work on, thanks ?

      It is very easy to fall into Sports mode – which is totally fine if that’s what you are practicing!
      Yes.. when visualising those Self Defence moments – you have to explode and attack like your life depended on it.
